Almost a week ago, we asked you to send in your shots and be a contributor on the Film Traveler to inspire more people to shoot film. The response was overwhelming and even more inspiring.
One of those who sent their art work and story was Raymund Garcia who, like our previous featured photographer Reymart, has never owned a camera before. Raymund used to shoot with his phone and admits that he heavily post-processed each.
Everything changed when he picked up his 1st ever film camera 9 months ago – a Yashica Electro 35 GSN. At 1st he was scared about the uncertainty of the results, which is pretty normal not just in Film Photography but in life itself. Not knowing what the future holds is indeed a scary thing to think of.
Raymund is now a collector of Film Cameras. As of this date, he owns 8 fully functional film cameras namely the Olympus OM-1, Olympus XA, Olympus XA2, Nikon AF600, Nikon L35AD, Konica Genba Kontaku 28wb, and a Shanghai/Seagull TLR. He also proudly shoots using his collection of cameras.
Here’s Raymund’s photo set using an Olympus OM-1 paired with a 50 mm f/1.8 for the cat, the Yashica Electro 35 GSN for the cactus shot, and a Konica Genba Kontaku 28wb for the remaining images. He used a Fujifilm YKL 100 for all pictures.
You can view more of his art work on his Instagram account.
