Get matched with the perfect lens with ‘WhatTheLens’

Have you been struggling with your photographs lately? Maybe it’s just that you don’t have the perfect lens for your photography style? Whatever the reason may be, we found a website that could help you out.

This website called WhatTheLens matches you with the lens based on your preference. All you have to do is choose from a selection of photographs and the website will suggest the best one for you. You can even search your lens based on a category such as landscape, macro, travel, animals, etc.

The results are crazy (at least on my end). My selection suggested that I use a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM paired with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Good thing WhatTheLens has this option where you can send the results to yourself via email or Facebook share to remind you what to get when you actually have the money to buy the gear.

This website does have a few downsides though. One is that it doesn’t include vintage lenses (or it’s either the selection weren’t shot with those goodies). Also, it doesn’t have photographs taken with film in the selection. But if you’re a Nikon user, we’re sure that wouldn’t be a problem.

WhatTheLens is a fun way of feeding that Gear Acquisition Syndrome most photographers have. Luckily, I shoot with a Canon FX that uses FD lenses. So as long as they don’t include film cameras in this website I’m safe… for now. Or maybe I should make the switch to Nikon…
