I arrived early morning at Inle lake and amazed by this long line of Monks. Curious about it, I asked a local if there is an event or something special on the day and yes there is 🙂 . He also said that the monks at that moment is a total of 582! I feel like the line has no end at all. It was called “Fullmoon of Waso”. The full moon falls last 8th of July. As the monks pass by the houses, locals are donating goods and supplies to them. I searched more on the web and learned that Waso Day commemorates the Buddha’s First Sermon and the beginning of the Buddhist Lent. Amazing! #SEAbackpacking2.0 #Myanmar
